The wait is almost over. Their return is imminent! Rail Explorers: Las Vegas Division will open January 5 and run through April.
What is it??
They call it the ‘The Southwest Ramble‘ – and it is an exhilarating 4 mile downhill pedal-powered ride from the Railroad Museum station to their private park behind the Railroad Pass Hotel.
After a brief rest at their park behind the Railroad Pass Hotel, they bring out one of the historic trains from the museum for your return trip. All riders enjoy free entry into the Nevada Southern Railroad Museum! Total tour time is about 2 hours and it is fun!
The family-owned company, based out of Rode Island, has been running several tours there on formerly abandoned and scenic rail lines. They went looking for a winter home last year and landed in Boulder City. We were there for the inaugural run and had a blast. The people are friendly. The “bikes” are easy and its a beautiful and scenic journey riding the rails that helped build Hoover Dam.
