To ease any shock from a sudden change in driving habits, the Nevada Depart of Transportation (NDOT) has decided to open up the I-11/Boulder City Bypass in a piecemeal fashion. The second piece of the puzzle will open on February 1st.
Back in August of 2017, a small southbound segment opened up near the Railroad Pass. For those that are familiar, it was Foothill Drive in Henderson to Silverline Road in Boulder City. On Thursday, February 1, the northbound segment will open up.
On March 1st, the diamond interchange will open up at Railroad Pass and I-11. Giving drivers back a direct access to the casino and future Travel Plaza/Truckstop. Then the final piece of phase 1 will be the completion of the I-11 lanes that will allow drivers to merge onto southbound U.S. 95 to Searchlight.
This will complete Phase One. Phase Two of the Interstate 11 project to the Arizona border, bypassing Boulder City, will be completed by October 2018.
